Summer of Txakoli at Spanish Diner

Txakoli, pronounced cha-co-li, comes from the Basque region of Spain.

Txakoli is the quintessential accompaniment for seafood, Summer and tapas. Txakoli is what the locals sip on all day to wash down boquerones, (local cured anchovies), seafood and a myriad of pintxos they consume at the local bars. The high acidity, makes it food friendly, while the low alcohol makes it the perfect wine to sip on all day.

Txakoli is typically served in tumblers with a high pour, bottle above shoulder and while it is a treat to see the pour, it is part of the magic to release the delicate and nuanced effervescence quality of txakoli.

Enjoy txakoli in many forms i.e white, rosado, red, vermút and even gin!
